Frequently asked questions

Family workshops last between 30 and 40 minutes depending on group size. Birthday parties, including party food, last about 1.5 hours. Adult group workshops last about 60 to 75 minutes. School visits can be arranged, so please contact us to discuss.

Family and children's workshops are £22 per child or adult. Children's birthday parties are £24 per child (minimum 8 children, includes lunch and a birthday present). Adult group and hen party workshops are £30 per person (minimum 8 people, includes Prosecco). Please contact us for school and group pricing.

We recommend workshops for children aged 3 and upwards. Children under 3 are welcome to watch but cannot take part in the making.

Our workshops are designed for children aged 3 to 14, though adults love it just as much. We run sessions for hen parties, corporate groups and adult groups as well as families, and there is no upper age limit.

We are open every day from 9am to 5pm. Workshops run on the hour from 10am. The last session starts at 4pm on weekdays and 3pm at weekends. The best way to check availability and book a time slot is online.

Booking is strongly recommended, particularly in school holidays, on bank holidays and at weekends. Walk-ins are welcome but we can't guarantee a place without a booking. For bookings on the day, please call the shop on 015394 36075.

Yes. Children can attend workshops on their own and our experienced team will look after them throughout the session.

Everyone in the workshop area needs to have booked and paid for a session. If you'd like to be with your child, you're welcome to join the workshop, and our team will be on hand to help everyone.

Participants make chocolate creations of their choice using white and milk chocolate, choosing their own toppings and decorations. Everything they make is theirs to take home, along with an apron and hair net to keep.

We work with chocolate and nut products throughout the workshop. Please contact us before booking if anyone has a nut, dairy or other food allergy so we can advise you.

There's no parking directly outside, but we're a short walk from Hawkshead's main car park.

We're on Main Street in the centre of Hawkshead village, LA22 0NT, in the heart of the Lake District.

Yes. We welcome school groups and offer supervised, hands-on chocolate making for all ages, from toddler groups to high school. Sessions can link to curriculum topics including how chocolate is made, its history and origins, Fairtrade, business studies and marketing. Teachers can watch through our viewing wall.
